Dental Assistant (Medicaid & Cash Practice)
Position Overview

We run a busy, patient-focused practice right here in Franklin, Ohio, serving a diverse mix of Medicaid and self-pay (cash) patients.
We are looking for an assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at keeping rooms turning over efficiently, and understands how to provide top-tier clinical care while treating every patient with dignity and respect. We offer competitive starting pay at $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, a welcoming team dynamic, and a consistent, reliable schedule.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
Chairside Assistance: Provide seamless, high-quality four-handed dentistry assistance for a variety of general clinical procedures, including composite restorations, extractions, root canals, and crown/bridge preps.
Prosthodontics & Dentures: Assist closely with our specialized denture workflows, including taking accurate alginate impressions, pouring up stone models, prepping bite rims, and assisting with clinical denture adjustments and relines.
Radiography & Imaging: Safely capture clear digital diagnostic X-rays (Bitewings, Periapicals, and Panoramics) in strict compliance with Ohio state laws and ALARA safety guidelines.
Medicaid & Cash Workflow Documentation: Ensure clinical notes and charting are detailed, accurate, and structured perfectly to satisfy Ohio Medicaid diagnostic guidelines for smooth claim pre-authorizations. Assist with transparently explaining treatment plans and out-of-pocket costs to our cash-pay patients.
Sterilization & Compliance: Maintain absolute compliance with OSHA, CDC, and Ohio State Dental Board infection control standards. Sterilize instruments, track logs, and rapidly disinfect and restock operatory rooms to keep the clinic running on schedule.
Qualifications & Requirements
Active License Required: Must possess a current and valid Ohio Dental Assistant Radiographer Certificate (or be highly motivated to obtain it immediately).
Clinical Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on dental assisting experience is preferred, though exceptional recent graduates from accredited dental assisting programs are encouraged to apply.
The Right Mindset: Experience working in a high-volume public health, Medicaid, or corporate dental setting is a massive plus. You must be comfortable working on your feet and managing a steady daily flow of patients.
Software Skills: Familiarity with digital dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft) and digital imaging sensors.
Core Certifications: Active BLS / CPR certification for healthcare providers.
